If you'd like to see some high-energy youth dancing Saturday, stop by a San Clemente dance studio that invites the community to "Dance for a Cause," a showcase that will benefit Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit that helps families dealing with cancer.
You'll see dancers ages 6-18 performing tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, ballet and other forms. General admission is a $10 donation.
Performances will be offered at noon, 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at San Clemente Dance & Performing Arts Center, 1321 Calle Avanzado, in the Talega Business Park. The event will include a silent auction at 5:30 p.m.
This is the second year for Dance for a Cause, organized by Jake Esten, a San Clemente resident who organized the first benefit a year ago for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. It was his senior project at Saddleback Valley Christian Schools.
This year?the beneficiary is?the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, which has been assisting the family of Allie Brady, a dancer at the studio whose father was stricken with leukemia and lymphoma.
